A great band remembered
This week Too Pure has released the posthumous mclusky compilation, mcluskyism. "Forget George Best, last year's biggest loss came when Cardiff trio mclusky split" 8/10 - NME, "A fine testimony to a great British band" 4/5 - The Independent. The collection is available as a strictly limited edition 3 CD set, comprising A sides, B sides and C sides (rareties and live tracks). The live songs are taken from the band's final headline performance at London's ULU, recorded by the nice people at liveherenow. All the A sides feature on the standard single disc. mcluskyism is available at all good record stores now (including Amazon where the limited edition is a steal at only £8.99) and is also available to download from iTunes.

Last hurrah for mclusky
mclusky are dead. Having somehow managed to last three albums together (they did lose a drummer en route mind) and perform countless gigs around the world before their almost inevitable implosion a year ago, we have some good news for those still mourning their death. mcluskyism, a lasting testament to one of the most under-rated UK bands of recent years, is being released as both a single CD with all the hits and also a very special limited edition and rather comprehensive 3CD retrospective of A-sides, B-sides and C-sides (rarities and live versions). Both releases are available from February 27. A suitable way to end to their story, yes, but it hurts that there won't be a tour to coincide.
